Child & Adolescent Mentoring Scheme
The scheme was set up in 2000 with the aim of supporting children in the London Borough of Havering between the ages of ten and eighteen who are recognised as needing social and emotional support outside the family.
The scheme is targeted at children who are at risk of social isolation e.g. bullying, school phobia, social or family crisis.
Main reasons for referral:
- Bereavement
- Abuse issues-physical/emotional/sexual
- Bullying
- Anti Social Behaviour
Once the child joins the scheme, he/she will automatically be able to access activities. These activities run on a week day evening once a month and include: cinema, bowling, badminton, card making, quiz nights, pizza evening.
