The group is relaxed and friendly with plenty of activities
for you to participate in if you wish or if you prefer you
can come along for a chat or just to take in the atmosphere.
Activities that take place at this time include jewellery
making, card making, expressive art, Iris folding, Glass Painting,
Guest speakers, Quizzes, Salsa Dancing, Ladies Dart Morning,
regular discussions on planned topics such as positive thinking.
The group has plenty of ideas for the future some of this
are having a sing along to the piano, healthy eating, cross-stitch,
creative writing, tai chi and Pilates.

The purposes of these groups is to provide a safe and confidential
environment for discussion and support. There are ten ladies
presently using the group. We aim to promote a sense of empowerment
through encouragement and non-judgemental approach and mutual
respect. Please approach a facilitator for further information.

In addition to normal gardening chores, clearing beds, weeding,
planting and tending there are trips to garden centres. Group
members work as part of the team or at their own pace depending
on individual. Working alone on other days is encouraged.
The group takes pride in their work and quite rightly show
their work to others.

Sports Activities

We meet at Harrow Lodge House then travel to the venue where
we will be taking part in the weekly sport. Sports we have
tried so far include; Bowling, Golf, , Badminton, Country
Walks, Horse Riding, Fishing, Snooker, mountain biking,
gym visits, survival skills and navigation. The group
that attends are friendly and supportive. The group meets
to discuss and plan future programme and activities.

Hearing Voices Group
This is held every Wednesday afternoon 1.00pm to 3.00pm at
Harrow Lodge House
This group encourages voice hearers
to talk about their experiences in a safe, non-judgemental
setting, thus enabling service user to gain an understanding
of their voices,develop coping strategies and feel less isolated.

Skills
This session
aims to provide a 4 week course on a one to one basis or small
groups. The service users identify their needs and a
programme is arranged, with the main focus being cookery and
healthy life style. the aim is to give a basic
awareness of healthy eating, fitness, planning and cooking
a meal on a budget. The sessions are adapted to suit
the individual and aims to provide community links.
Art Group
This group which is user led and supported by a member of
staff met every Tuesday at Harrow Lodge House 12.00pm to 2.00pm.
Aims
The facilitator is experienced in using water
colours, oils and pastels. Clients are encouraged to
try painting and drawing. Beginners are welcome and
more accomplished clients are encouraged and supported.
Painting and drawing is therapeutic and clients are encouraged
to develop their own creativity. The Group enables clients
to express their creativity in a safe and supportive environment.
Media Group
Held at Harrow Lodge drop-in every Friday afternoon 1.30pm
to 3.30pm

Havering Mind is a dynamic and forward looking
organisation - new activities and projects are always being
developed - ideas for these come from our clients who often
help to run these activities.
User Led Activites
All our centres support
a number of user led activities, these include Horticulture
activities, cycling, badminton, sunday community meet, day
trips, holidays and client meetings.
