Wellbeing Project Worker

We are looking for a positive team member who can support adults with mental health problems in the London Boroughs of Havering and Barking and Dagenham, to come together to participate in social and health-related activities. These activities will improve physical health and mental wellbeing, build confidence, combat isolation and enable the formation of ‘Get Out’ Peer networks to improve integration within the wider community.

Peer Support Workers (full time/part time roles)

We are seeking to recruit those who can use their own life experience of mental distress or as a carer and recovery as a template in these roles. They will be supported by the NELFT MH Wellness Team Manager, and report to and be supervised by the Operations Manager for Mind in Havering, Barking & Dagenham. Working as part of the Havering, Barking & Dagenham Mental Health Peer Projects they will provide support and recovery guidance to individuals experiencing common and severe mental health problems. They will be tasked with supporting the team to develop recovery-based programmes for service users and members of the local community in partnership with statutory and community organisations.

We are seeking highly motivated, and experienced individuals who will help to shape the Teams, and deliver this new and exciting service in Baking & Dagenham, and in Havering. Mums Matter has been designed by mums for mums with perinatal mental health concerns. We will work with individual women, families and in group settings to empower parents to take control of their health and wellbeing through the delivery of listening sessions and resilience building skills and strategies. Mums Matter takes a holistic approach to an individual’s health and wellbeing, connecting parents to diverse community groups and statutory services for practical and emotional support.
