I am pleased announce that working as Mind in Barking & Dagenham, Havering Mind has secured funding to expand our Gateway Telephone Service to support our residents and communities right across the Borough of Barking & Dagenham too.

Our Gateway Telephone Service in Barking & Dagenham, is the first point of contact for anyone seeking support for their own or someone else’s mental health including carers, GPs, health workers, family, friends, colleagues. We are also here for those who are working in organisations at ground level in the community with different groups either through churches, businesses, community organisations, health service or the voluntary sector.

This year has been a tough one for us all and the months of lockdown and loss have had a huge impact on our mental health. In fact, since March, times have been very different in the UK and across the world. One thing that has definitely taken a hit is the impact this is all having on our mental health. From lockdown, to furlough, to the loss of loved ones, we’ve all found ourselves under pressure or anxious at times.

The pandemic has affected us all in different ways, and it is only normal to feel uncertain about what the future holds, and the stress of this uncertainty has had an impact on the mental health of many.

Whatever is worrying you or someone else you know, please contact us, and our experienced Gateway Telephone staff will provide the right support at the right time, by listening and helping with information. We can assess your situation and provide warm signposting to opportunities for mental health prevention, treatment and recovery.

The Service is available on  01708 457040 Monday to Friday 9am -7pm, Monday, Wednesday and Friday until 9pm, Saturday and Sunday 4pm – 8pm

We can also be reached via [email protected] or [email protected]  and through an online referral form here on our website
